'What a long strange trip it's been'.

(Gerry Garcia - The Grateful Dead)

Having been a musician for nearly 50 years I can certainly echo those words. I hope there's something on my website for everyone to enjoy, especially fans of bands I've played keyboards with - mainly MOTT THE HOOPLE and  DEXYS MIDNIGHT RUNNERS.

There are stories about my life on the road and in studios, plus rare photos. For music-trivia addicts, there's a huge list of gigs I've played - from youth clubs in Lancashire in 1970, to the Hollywood Palladium three years later, and on to the 1990s.

Please check out my current gig list below - and come to see me if you can.

I'm still loving playing in all kinds of set-ups -  rock bands, acoustic duos etc, but mostly solo playing rock, jazz, blues or mellow piano music to suit the venue.

So please get in touch if you have an event or a venue that you'd like me to play at.

Some comments on TripAdvisor and received by email:

 - Music that was played was great, but Mick Bolton (former keyboard player for Mott The Hoople) was fantastic! Fabulous choice of tunes. Certainly recommended.'

 -  The atmosphere was just right...with the great Mick bolton playing the keyboard and singing.

 - Hello Mick ,  just wanted to get back to you to say a big thank you for playing at our wedding reception , we have had so many compliments about your performance that night , brilliant & thank you

NEWS. I'm currently working on a new project called my Piano Rock and Roadshow - a solo show where I'll play songs that feature some of my favourite rock piano players - Leon Russell, Garth Hudson, Dr John, Jerry Lee Lewis etc., plus other songs, including some of my own, about life on the road. I'll be looking for venues for this soon. It should be an interesting show as I'll be telling a few on-the-road stories too.

Thu 15th, 22nd - THE ALBION, Hastings. 7.30 - 9.30pm - continuing with Thursdays in March

Sat 17th, Sun 18th, Fri 23rd - THE GRAPEVINE, Rye TN31 7LE. 8.30pm

Sun 25th -  HORSE & GROOM, St Leonards TN38 0EB. 4pm with the Peter O'Donnell Band

Come and see me if you can at The Grapevine - one of my favourite venues where you can expect rock, jazz-funk, blues and original songs.

The Albion should be a lovely gig. It's one of the best music pubs in this very musical town. I'll be playing a real piano for a change which will be great. It's going to be an evening of mellow piano with some vocals - really looking forward to it. And the food will be delicious, I'm sure! I'm really pleased to be starting a regular gig at this great venue.

The Horse & Groom will be brilliant - my second gig with Peter O'Donnell's band. He's a fantastic guitarist and he can call on some excellent musicians to play in his band. He plays some scorching guitar on songs by Cream, Santana and many more.

And if you want to book me for any kind of gig, just get in touch on the Contact Me page.
